The seeds for CDPayet Photography were planted by my Dad when I was a child; he’d been an avid photographer for 20 years before I was even born, and I still love to look through his many albums and slides of our childhood vacations to Europe, where he captured many amazing pictures. And it was during a college year-abroad in Germany that I finally purchased my own Canon SLR to begin shooting.

However, my dental practice became the major impetus for learning more of photography, and the advent of affordable digital SLRs became the launching board for me to begin learning more of the technical and creative aspects. Dr. Ross Nash, Dr. Tony Soileau, Dr. Mike Barr, and other colleagues showed me what was possible, and I realized both the power and the creativity that lay within digital photography, and so I ran with it. Today, photography is an integral part of my dental practice; my current Lightroom catalog at work holds just under 40,000 images.

However, landscape photography has long been a passion, and over the years, I’ve been fortunate to travel to and photograph many fabulous locations in the US and Europe. The most recent trips have been to Canada and Alaska, which of course offer stunning vistas of glaciers, mountains, wildlife, rivers, and more. You can see many of these on my website.

Portrait photography has become a passion as well, simply because it is so much fun. I offer on-location (not in studio unless requested), spontaneous, and fun portrait photography sessions for individuals and families.
